The Steal
Aeneas Peebles was ranked DT17 on the consensus board (#132 overall) but lasted until pick 210, where the Baltimore Ravens took him in Round 6. A 78-spot fall, the largest gap between consensus and draft day of any DT in the class. Behind him, Joshua Farmer (+48) and JJ Pegues (+31) also outlasted their rankings.
The Conviction Pick
The Las Vegas Raiders took Tonka Hemingway at pick 135, 83 spots ahead of his #218 consensus rank. That's the league's strongest disagreement with the public board at the position. Teams showed similar conviction on Vernon Broughton (66 spots) and Tim Smith (61 spots).
The Cliff
After Jamaree Caldwell went at pick 86, the next DT didn't come off the board for 23 picks. That's the sharpest drop in the class.
The Spend
Teams spent 31 picks on DT, 9 of them in the first two rounds. That's above the position's average of 23.3 since 2018.
The Bet
The Miami Dolphins spent more draft capital on DT than any other club: picks 13, 143 and 253, 49% of their total draft investment.
